We provide customized and innovative monitoring solutions and have all the resources required to complete the various phases of instrument installation and commissioning throughout construction. Our worldwide operations deliver projects in multiple sectors, including mining, civil engineering, energy and the environment. Our head office is located in Sainte-Julie, Québec.

 

We are looking for a dynamic person, committed and willing to make a difference with our customers. The Field Technician will report to the Project Manager of the engineering services.

Responsibilities

The job consists of installing and commissioning monitoring systems throughout construction sites. 

  • Lead technical instrumentation mandates.
  • Follow and participate in the quality of the work performed in the field.
  • Assemble data acquisition systems in the workshop.
  • Support technically our customers and sales team.
  • Write field reports.

Qualifications

  • DCS (diploma of college studies) in civil engineering, geological or mining.
  • Knowledge of optical monitoring using latest digital surveying equipment.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and programming.
  • Basic knowledge in telecommunications.
  • Knowledge in electronics (an asset).
  • Knowledge in IT network management (an asset).
  • Knowledge in ACAD drawings (an asset).
  • Good manual skills.
  • Excellent self-organization, rigor, work methodology.
  • Resourcefulness and good stress management.
  • Recognized for your team spirit and teamwork.
  • Availability to travel frequently to construction sites.
  • Fluency in French both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of English both written and spoken.
  • Valid Canadian passport and driver’s licence.
  • ASP Construction certification.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently.
  • Able to manipulate power tools.
  • Able to work at height (GKM will provide training)
