Job Role: We are currently seeking a Branch Accountant for our Acton, ON office.

Project accounting

• Business partner to the Vice President of the Ontario region. Direct partnership with project management and coordination to bridge the gap between operational performance and financial performance meeting IFRS and internal requirements
• Responsible for accounting activities for the designated projects including understanding of the job cost data capture, billings and sales agreements/contracts
• Work with project management to ensure costs are recorded in the correct weekly period and revenue recognition is in accordance with IFRS15
• Work with project management to develop monthly project forecasts, analyze and investigate variances to budget and to prior month
• Lead/assist the presentation of monthly forecasts for senior management
• Participate in ad hoc projects analysis as necessary

Regional accounting

• Presentation of monthly results to senior Canadian management.
• Ensure financial results are in accordance with IFRS and internal policies and procedures
• Income statement variance analysis vs budget and to prior month of indirect job costs, shop costs, equipment costs, and overhead costs.
• Assisting with the corporate monthly close process
• Prepare and present annual regional budget and quarterly re-forecasts.
• Provide support and justification for audit requests
• Other ad hoc inquiries as they arise.

Accounts receivable

• Review of and posting of project billings in correspondence with project management
• Population of DSO expected date
• Project statements
• Overall management of collection courtesy calls and log details in ERP.
• Bank deposits as required
• Management and mentorship of regional Accounting Coordinator

Education and Experience:

• CPA designation or end stages of PERT
• Experience with IFRS, application of accounting policies and account reconciliations
• 3 to 5 years related experience in accounting
• Commissioner of oaths is considered an asset

Compensation:

$80,000 - $110,000 based on education and experience, RRSP matching after first year of employment, competitive benefits, annual bonus program based on company and individual performance, and hybrid work options available.
